Why bother with all the hassles of home ownership, when you can live in your own maintenance-free apartment…with friends just down the hall and services right at your fingertips? Here, you can live life to its fullest with a diverse group of wonderful residents aged 62 and older.
You’ll find plenty of opportunities to enjoy our beautifully landscaped grounds and your favorite pastimes. And family and friends are always welcome.
Are you in the mood for a restful afternoon? How about a leisurely stroll along our tree-lined walking trails, or a friendly game of cards in our pool and game room? Or, if you feel like getting out, sign on for our organized shopping trips in town…we’ll handle the transportation. Without ever leaving the security of our campus, you can enjoy a wide variety of planned events, or just enjoy our amenities like our exercise room or library.
Best of all, we offer an on campus hair salon, grocery, pharmacy and launderette, making the commute for those daily necessities just steps—not miles. Our dining hall at Friendship House offers three meals a day for a small fee—a terrific option when you don’t feel like cooking!
You may have thought our independent apartment community wasn’t an option for you because of a limited income. But the good news is that our comfortable and caring community offers a helping hand to individuals and couples with limited incomes. That means our bright and maintenance-free apartments may be just what you’ve been looking for.

How Our Rates Are Calculated
Christian Care Communities is committed to offering affordable housing options to older adults, regardless of ability to pay. Many of our residents at Friendship House pay full market rate for our apartments. However, many of our residents receive federal rent subsidies from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, ensuring that they pay no more for rent than a percentage of their monthly income after medical expenses.
For more information about market rates, HUD subsidy eligibility or scheduling tours, please call us at 502-885-4119 or email us at contactus@ccc1884.org.
Apartment Availabilities & Waiting Lists
The availability of apartments varies according to the type of apartment desired, whether there are any current vacant apartments, and whether or not HUD subsidies apply.
Once an applicant has been advised of an available apartment and he/she is ready to move, the applicant will need to have an assessment by our social worker to determine if we can meet his/her needs. If approved, we will then complete a criminal reference check and look into the applicant’s landlord history for the last two years.
When these checks are returned satisfactorily, fair market renters can usually move in a few days if the apartment is ready. For potential residents who qualify for rent subsidy assistance, final approval may take three to four weeks. Subsidy-qualified renters who wish to move more quickly may be able to do so, if they have the ability to pay a month or two’s fair market rent while their application is being processed.
In the event that there is no appropriate apartment available, you will be placed on a waiting list and notified of openings in the order in which you applied.
