Levels of Service

The Christian Health Center accepts residents who are private pay, Medicare or Medicaid eligible.

Residents in each service level can choose between a private or semi-private room, with the exception of the personal care unit, which only offers semi-private rooms. Levels of Service:

Skilled Care
This service is for patients who need intensive psychological treatment or physical therapy in addition to the regular nursing facility care.

Nursing Facility
Services provided here are “standard” nursing facility care, including bathing, meals, help walking/standing/ sitting and all the comforts of the Christian Care Health Center.

Dementia Care/The Neighborhood
This is a secured unit that allows residents with dementia to live in a safe, homelike environment, complete with their services.  For more information, see our section on Dementia Care.

Personal Care
Patients in this unit have more ease getting around and are capable of many daily activities, but still need the standardized medical care access provided in a nursing facility.

Admissions Policies

Potential residents and their caregivers may apply for a room at the Christian Health Center by contacting our social workers in the admissions department at 502-583-6533.  They will look at the potential resident’s income, assets, current home and medical expenses, and offer advice on which Medicare/Medicaid/insurance benefits may apply.  They also will assess the resident’s current medical needs and capabilities, to determine which level of service is most appropriate. The first available room will be offered, based on the level of service the resident needs.

Dementia Care

For older adults with Dementia, the day eventually comes when they need help to complete daily tasks, and possibly even 24 hour supervision.

To meet this growing need, the Christian Health Center in Louisville offers "The Neighborhood," an enclosed living area within the center that provides rooms for 20 persons and a large dining/activity/living area.

The Neighborhood focuses on stimulating residents' mental and physical capacities and  bringing a comforting familiarity to their lives. Daily activities are built around a theme, such as gardening, and residents enjoy related activities such as planting vegetables outdoors, cooking them for lunch, and reminiscing about the staples that came from family gardens when they were children.

To learn more about The Neighborhood, call, The Christian Health Center at (502) 583-6533.
