Affordable Housing

As we age, the things we value may change. In a recent conversation with some of our senior residents, we asked what they valued most at their current age. The top answers included good health, relationships, security, community, comfort, financial stability, and independence.

At Christian Care Communities, our mission is to enhance the journey of life for older adults. At the core of what we offer is a home for seniors. A home is a place of refuge, where a person feels safe and accepted. A home requires an emotional connection and sense of belonging. And all things considered, a place to call home fulfills most of the primary things we value as we age.

Among many of the homes Christian Care offers is affordable senior housing. These apartment communities offer reasonably priced rent to lower-income older adults. This unique rent structure is calculated based on income and ensures there is enough money left each month for necessities like groceries. For seniors living on a fixed income, it is important to find affordable housing. Often the largest expense for seniors is the cost associated with housing. This includes mortgage or rent payment, utility expenses, maintenance, and repairs.

In Louisville, Christian Care’s Friendship House and Chapel House are affordable housing apartment buildings. Our close-knit community has friendly, interesting, diverse, and vibrant neighbors. These seniors live independently in private studio and one-bedroom apartments. Some are still working and enjoy convenient interstate access and a bus stop right out front. Others are fully enjoying retired life and fill their days with activities, volunteer work and hobbies. Engagement and connection are important, and friendships blossom in the halls, sunny courtyard, and weekly chapel services.

Our cozy, secure community in beautiful Old Louisville hosts a wide array of social activities that cater to all interests. Our Activities Director is the best in the business and fills every day with a variety of opportunities within the community. From games and puzzles to musical entertainment, celebrating silly holidays like PB&J Day, arts and crafts, and walking clubs, she keeps residents as busy and involved as they want to be. We offer continuing education speakers and classes, volunteer opportunities and an onsite boutique for weekly shopping trips. Our robust spiritual care program includes an onsite chaplain, weekly chapel services, and Bible studies. Our goal is to help residents create moments that engage and excite, building a fulfilling lifestyle.

At Christian Care Communities, we want to provide a home and sense of community for older adults. For seniors that value relationships, security, community, comfort, financial stability, and independence…Christian Care is home. We want to make it possible for all seniors to have this option, regardless of income.

Our knowledgeable team helps applicants determine if they meet criteria to qualify for government assistance programs designed for low-income seniors, where participants pay no more than 30% of their adjusted gross income. We invite you or your loved one to contact us to get the process started.
