A glance at Christian Care’s course in 2019

Living Our Mission of Care in 2018

A quick look back and an encouraging glance at Christian Care’s course in 2019

Since 1884, Christian Care Communities has offered hope and delivered faith-inspired, compassionate care to thousands of God’s eldest children. This “legacy of care” drives our service to many of those who are simply unable to afford the care they receive. We continue to provide care to the often forgotten elderly who need a place to call home — compassionate care for those facing loss of health, and hope and healing for individuals and families coping with grief, illness and loneliness.

At Christian Care, “enhancing the journey of life” means devotion to the care, service and programs that make a real difference in the quality of life and health to the 4,000 Older Adults and their families who called Christian Care Communities “home” in 2018.

Thanks to your continuing support, last year brought many enhancements to our fine legacy of care. Here are a few exciting highlights from 2018:

  • Our increased dedication to meeting the needs of Alzheimer’s and dementia care lead to the complete renovation of “The Meadow,” our faith-inspired care ministry for those on the difficult journey of Alzheimer’s disease. The remodeling of The Meadow included updated bedrooms, kitchen and activity center, as well as additional enhancements such as a therapy spa and a secure covered patio with walking path and fountain brook.
  • Our improved dining services included new hot food carts, tables, chairs, artwork, and audio-visual equipment to enhance the dining atmosphere and relationship building.
  • Our Friendship House and Chapel House apartments underwent a multi-million dollar renovation of all resident apartments, chapels, activity centers, elevators, and lobbies.
  • We now have ten chaplains who provide worship services, Bible studies, and assist our residents with the many spiritual questions associated with aging.

What will 2019 bring?

In 2019, we’ll continue to build on our legacy of faith-inspired care. In particular, Christian Care Communities will focus efforts on training the next generation of leaders in compassionate care through our “Care and Connect Training Centers,” as well as continuing certified training in our “Best Friends” approach to Alzheimer’s and dementia care and iN2L (it’s Never 2 Late) technologies. Thanks to funding from donors like you, as well as $10,000 in additional grant funding from the National Benevolence Association, the new Care and Connect Centers will educate new employees and staff on the best care methods for seniors, while offering support groups for families and caregivers of loved ones with Alzheimer’s or dementia.

The future of compassionate, faith-inspired care is bright for Christian Care Communities and the residents we care for. You can become a part of it by supporting our mission. Consider a gift today at ChristianCareCommunities.org.
