A New Day For Kentucky’s Older Adults
Small cottages replacing the traditional nursing home, with its typically isolating, semi-private rooms along lengthy hallways ending at a nurses’ station. And in these cottages, eight to 12 Older Adults are able to receive the person centered care they need.
Green House Model
At Christian Care Communities, we see The Homeplace at Midway as the future and are excited to be on the leading edge of the effort to bring the first truly “person-centered” care community – also known as The Green House model of care – to Kentucky.
The Green House model takes the whole concept of caring for Older Adults and turns it upside down. It alters facility size, interior design, staffing patterns and the methods of delivering skilled professional services. It’s a radical departure from traditional nursing homes and assisted living facilities. And for people, it means the opportunity to receive the highest quality medical care and personal support in daily living activities – without feeling their lives are being disrupted or overtaken.
