Leading Dementia Care in Kentucky
The Best Friends™ Approach is at the heart of our care for our older adults with memory loss, including Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Our trained staff understands each resident’s life story, preferences, likes, dislikes, individual abilities, and challenges. Our strong emphasis on relationships creates the loving nature found in our communities, bringing residents, family members, staff and volunteers together as neighbors and friends.
At the core of The Best Friends™ Approach are relationships, a vital component of dementia care. Our experienced staff and volunteers are extensively trained in Best Friends™ model of care. They work individually with our residents with forms of dementia to learn their life stories and essentially become their “Best Friends.” These “Best Friends” know how to emphasize our residents’ strengths and abilities, encourage them to participate in meaningful and fun activities, and spend days together that are positive, upbeat and life-affirming.
We create a personalized approach to care for each resident. We know that no two people are alike in their dementia care needs. Based on our assessment prior to moving in, we ensure each resident has the customized support needed to live life to the fullest.
